Your dog’s health is very important. We strongly believe that prevention is better than cure. However, if something does not appear right with your canine friend then please consult your vet.

Some dogs have red meat allergies. For this reason Nature’s Gift refrains from putting red meat in any of it's chicken varieties including cans, trays, dry and treats. Unlike other pet foods that do have red meat as a basis for their recipes.

If your dog suffers from an allergy to red meat then please try any of our chicken varieties for a few weeks and see the improvement. It should be noted that this is only for red meat allergies and is not considered veterinary advice in any way.

Exercise

Exercise should be a part of your dogs daily routine, it is a very important part of keeping your dog healthy.

As with humans, dogs also need to keep fit to maintain optimum health. With a balanced diet and regular exercise your dog should benefit from good health and vitality. Walking is one of the easiest exercises for both you and your dog and it benefits both of you. The more you walk your dog, the fitter you become too! Don’t leave your best friend in the backyard – take him out to enjoy the neighborhood. You just never know who you might meet. Your dog will love you for it.

There are many different games you can play with your dog to keep him/her fit and healthy including long walks, fetch, Frisbee & swimming.

A bored dog is far more likely to get into mischief and perhaps destroy some of your favourite possessions.

Grooming

Your dog needs regular grooming to keep healthy. Think what it would be like if you never brushed your hair, your dog needs to feel good and look good.

There are many reputable grooming products and services available in today’s pet aware society. As we know, mans best friend is hairy! By brushing your dog regularly you will eliminate matting (for long haired dogs) and reduce excessive shedding and hair loss.

By using a soft brush and comb on a regular basis you will keep your dog in top condition.

Bathing is an important factor too and depending on the coat of the dog and where they live depends on how often they require a bath. It is always best to use a pet shampoo to bath your dog, these are designed specifically for dogs as a dog’s skin is more delicate than a human’s. Pet shampoo is designed to remove the dirt and not the oils in the coat
